SK Innovation announced that it will develop new batteries and increase its production capacity.
According to foreign media reports, SK Innovation announced that the company will develop a new electric-vehicle battery designed to increase the maximum driving range of EVs to 500 kilometers. The product is expected to be commercially available as early as 2021. The company plans to boost its battery production capacity by more than 20 times by 2025, aiming to become the world’s third-largest player in the global battery market through substantial investment and technological R&D. On May 27, Kim Jun, CEO of SK Innovation, unveiled the company’s growth strategy at a press conference, pledging to fully develop next-generation NCM (nickel, cobalt, manganese) electric-vehicle battery cells—three key metals.

Working Together Toward a Win-Win Future—A Report on the Supplier Visit and Inspection Activity by Ningbo Yongjia
As the peak production season approaches, in order to ensure a stable supply of materials and make scientific and rational resource allocations, Ningbo Yongjia launched a three-day supplier visit and inspection campaign starting on May 28, 2019. The inspection team, led by Hu Liqun, Head of the Procurement Department; Wang Pengkun, Head of the Technical Department; and Xuan Kejun, Deputy Head of the Quality Department, successively visited suppliers in Jiaxing, Taizhou, and other regions. The supplier friends warmly welcomed Yongjia’s delegation. The inspection team gained a detailed understanding of each supplier’s production and operational status as well as their dynamic development trends, conducted on-site inspections of production facilities, and discussed product processes, production capacity, standards, and costs.

On the afternoon of May 11, 2019, Ningbo Yongjia held a training session on the "Fundamentals of IATF16949." More than 50 participants attended the training, including middle-level managers from various departments of the company, key personnel from different business units, as well as workshop directors and team leaders. The trainer for this session was Vice President Xing Shancai, who has been in charge of quality management for many years and possesses extensive practical experience with both the ISO 90001 and IATF 16949 quality systems. During the session, Mr. Xing provided detailed explanations on the background, development history, scope of application, objectives, benefits of implementing IATF 16949, and the documentation requirements of the IATF 16949 quality system.

On May 6, the 2018 Advanced Workers’ Commendation Conference and the 4th “Yaoxi Workers’ Voice” Literary and Artistic Performance, hosted by the trade union of Mazhu Town, Yuyao City, were solemnly held at the Mazhu Town Cultural and Sports Center. On April 29, 2019, the Technical Seminar for Vehicle Triangle Warning Signs was solemnly held in Chongqing. March 2019 Passenger Vehicle Sales Statistics
According to the latest comprehensive sales data released by the China Passenger Car Association, domestic narrow-definition passenger car sales in March reached 1.74 million units, down 12.1% year-on-year. This marks the 10th consecutive month of year-on-year decline in sales. Compared with the year-on-year decline since the fourth quarter of 2018, sales have shown a gradually improving trend in recent months. In the first quarter of 2019, cumulative sales totaled 5.077 million units, down 10.5% year-on-year. The consumption pattern continues to reflect faster growth among luxury brands than among mainstream joint-venture brands, and faster growth among mainstream joint-venture brands than among domestic brands. Specifically, sedan sales in March reached 857,000 units, down 12.0% year-on-year but up 4% month-on-month.

As always, let’s meet at the Canton Fair.
On April 15, 2019, the 125th China Import and Export Fair—commonly known as the Canton Fair or Guangzhou Fair—opened as scheduled. Founded in the spring of 1957, the Canton Fair is currently China’s longest-running, highest-level, largest-scale, most comprehensive international trade event, boasting the widest variety of products, the greatest number of participating buyers and sellers, and the best trade results. This year’s fair has been adjusted from a single session divided into two phases to a single session divided into three phases. The fair will be held in Guangzhou from April 15 to May 5. Each phase’s exhibition period has been shortened from six days to five days, with an additional three-day period for booth removal. All three phases will take place at the Pazhou Complex of the Canton Fair. Every session of the Canton Fair sees Ningbo Yongjia sending representatives to participate.
