In the dead of winter—don't let your car get “frozen”!

During winter, pay special attention to the following points when maintaining your car:
Lubricating oil. In winter, cars have higher lubrication requirements. If you’ve been using summer-grade oil, you must switch to winter-grade oil. Additionally, any oil that has been used for a long time, turned black in color, and shows reduced adhesion should be replaced to ensure smooth engine starting.
02
Antifreeze. The amount of antifreeze must be appropriate. In different regions and for different vehicle models, pay attention to the freezing point and model specifications of the antifreeze. Antifreeze that has been used for more than two years should be replaced, and mixed antifreeze must be replaced annually. Be careful not to mix products from different brands or different models. 。

03
Engine oil. Check whether the engine oil is low or degraded, and make sure to use a high-quality multi-grade oil suitable for winter conditions.
Battery. Before the cold season sets in, the battery’s electrolyte should be topped up and its specific gravity adjusted properly. At the same time, clean the battery terminals and apply a special grease to protect them, ensuring reliable starting and extending the battery’s service life.
05
Tires. In winter, tire rubber becomes harder and relatively more brittle, which reduces the coefficient of friction. Therefore, tire pressure should not be too high—but it must also not be too low. When external temperatures are low and tire pressure is excessively low, tire aging will accelerate.

In addition to the points mentioned above, during winter you should also regularly check whether all components—such as the radiator, water pump, belts, hoses, and water storage tank—are functioning properly. If you find any damage or malfunction, it’s best to repair or replace them promptly, ensuring your vehicle is always in top condition.
